OK Jeana, you go plant your bulbs tomorrow, then I'll plant mine in 2 days when the weather gets nice and sunny and warm.

thanks, Ann -- this is more like it! sinking ship is right. i suppose some of the folk back there will manage to adapt, and eventually even come to like the change, but not me. now, if they went back to the old format... but that's a pipe dream, i'm sure. =(
"all i want for Christmas is..." a way to connect with the old CooksTalk gang, which i loved to read tho rarely posted. and i miss Breaktime, too. ah, me, change for change's sake always eluded me.

The Breaktimers have started their own board, also. And, BT hasn't even switched over, yet! But, they saw what CT and the Fence look like and that scared them!
I can't believe that in the middle of the holiday season they would launch this new software with NO search function. The cooks can't find search to find the holiday baking recipes they were planning on! How STUPID is that?! And, the more I explore the worse it gets.

Roxanna, I totally agree! I loved reading the posts at cookstalk. I purchased the magazine because of the fudge discussion.

the most pitiful part of this whole debacle is the loss of the community camaraderie and spirit. it makes me so sad and mad that this particular format update has really blown apart the groups on OTF, CooksTalk & Breaktime. so much potential loss of knowledge as well, since some of the folk may just disappear and be gone forever. i keep checking back, to support my dreadful addiction, but it is SO difficult to wend a way thru the posts now, and it seems a lot of members are throwing in the towel. the core and heart of all the forums are gone for sure.
wonder if Tauntion will care? or perhaps their ship will truly sink. on the other hand, maybe not, if enough people can manage the new set-up better than i can.... le sigh...

Ahhh.....
And, I'm reasonably familiar with this type of site, so that makes it even more "Ahhh...."

Ann - I hadn't even thought about the cooks losing the ability to find their recipes. I bet some admins are going to get broiled in effigy this holiday season.

Pants on! And I don't feel the breeze nearly as much as I did before. Thanks for the reminder, Jeana.
